About The Center
The Depression Center includes faculty from all of the professional schools at UCSF, including medicine, dentistry, nursing and pharmaceutical scienes. We are in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF, which is home to one of the largest residency training programs in the country. We train psychiatry residents, psychology fellows, and a wide range of other graduate students to be leaders in their field of study. Our trainees go on to be clinicians, researchers, policy makers, and educators. This collaborative environment leads to multidisciplinary research and multifaceted clinical care and education.
Our researchers are investigating genetic, biological, and behavioral aspects of depression. They are focused on a better understanding of depression so that this mental health issue can eventually be better treated and prevented.
We also provide training to other professionals through yearly workshops and seminars. We provide education to the community through presentations and through our interactions with the press. To contact the UCSF Depression Center, please call 415 476-7500.
